She stays silent,
her voice soft, untested
drowned by clamoring thoughts,
She keeps numb,
swallowing her desires, never
spoken for who would heed?
Flashes of light and thunder
declares, look at me,
but like rain clouds that
pass everyday, no one
misses her coming and going.
She bides her time
for one day she could leave
those grey skies behind,
She dreams of songs
though she does not know
she needs to step into the pain.
Applause and cheers
may never come, and
she in time will learn,
What’s within need not be said
Her silence a cloak
for she dances in the rain.

Lovely poem but I would’ve swapped pain (or similar) for rain at the end of the 2nd last stanza. Don’t want to us rain twice.
