I came upon poet, Yun Dong-Ju (1917-1945), while researching another. Born in China, he lived during a turbulent time in Korean history spending his life in China, then Korea and Japan. He died at 27 years old in a Japanese prison. All of his works were published posthumously.
This is his poem from “Sky, Wind, and Stars”, as translated by Kyungnyun K. Richards & Steffen F. Richards.
Of the many poems, this one instantly struck a chord. And as he loved “all things that are dying”, so it must be that he loved all that are living.
