Living life, Reflection, The Self

Stories told

She is afraid of how she’ll present in a crowd and to anyone – will she falter, will she seem stupid, will she know the best way to be. And she is fearful of what will happen as her mind tells her stories of worst outcomes of any situation. What if she can’t cope? What if she can’t keep herself safe? What if she comes across as incompetent?

She is wary of how expectations and successes would feel if they landed on her; the pressure could just be too much and so she hesitates and sometimes stop.

She is aware and attuned to the emotions and undercurrents of any situation. Some would say she thinks too much, or she knows too much. And this makes her world a scary place, and people, dangerous. She feels deeply, which can be burdensome.

Her awareness and sensitive nature with her deep introspection make her a true friend and compassionate ally. Her wisdom and indomitable spirit is a force to be reckon with.

She tells vivid stories from uncommon perspectives. She can easily step into another’s shoes. She speaks with authority on matters for they have been thoroughly researched. Being wrong is not an option after all.

She watches animation stories of demons and horror, of complex relationships between normal and “abnormal”. Is it to make meaning of a world she has glimpsed but have yet to fully experience? Or is it  to attune her feelings and to innoculate herself within a safe space before she steps into an unknown big world? Are these stories a metaphor to help her come to terms with her own demons? Are the demons friendly and ‘normal”or are they evil to be overcome or…

She is a unique individual.

This is a story of strength and of weakness, or is it?

What are your stories? How do you tell yours?
