So I’ve been thinking… (it’s a dangerous thing 🙂 )
That loving is an art. It is a form of doing and not a science. And how does one approach this art?
To excel in art, we begin with the acquiring of knowledge (ie. know-how) then we practice it such that it becomes second nature flowing through us. This does not in any way mean it will be easy.
Practice this art long enough and the art will appear.
And how is an artist meant to be? The artist gives specific attention, time and effort, and learns with patience and humility. The artist uses their senses and imbues their senses with the knowledge and practice of this art.
As time passes, the artist may have to unlearn and re-learn. Because art is evolving, nothing is static nor fixed. Different knowledge, different practice…
And the precondition to all these – the pursuit of art must be the ultimate concern of the artist. It is not optional, or a hobby, or for entertainment. For an artist, the art is the ultimate priority.
So, loving is an art. “Am I am artist”, I ask myself. Are you?
A moon pure as spirit rose on the heart’s pathway.
What a joy, to travel the way of the heart. Say nothing.
I said: O heart, what is this moon? Heart beckoned:
For now, it’s not for you to know. Say nothing.
