She cried again. Over the time that had passed.
Of the years she lost to her duties. Of the years she abandoned for fear.
Sorrow etched her brow. She can only feel the tightening in her chest.
She can only hear echoes of how she used to be.
Submerged in this grief she cannot shake, she rails against those who had disappointed her.
Those who had not seen her worth. Those who had belittled her dreams.
She cried again. Struggling to regain what is lost.
Knowing her time is draining through her fingers, she holds tight to remnants of her faith.
As she passes through this world, when she breathes her last,
her legacies she does not see.
Will she sigh or will she smile
at the memories already fading.

She will smile with joy,
As new life brings memories,
old ones will weaken .
