Ashes #Haiku 286

First post for 2020… and a haiku.

Living in a mountainous region of Australia impacted by fires, you will appreciate where my mind was when I saw the prompt words, “ashes” and “cocoon”.

And here is a link to sites which you can make donations to firefighters and victims of the Australian fire.

ashes rain, lives lost
bereft land, seeking cocoon
from nature’s furor.

The haiku is a contribution to Ronovan’s Haiku Challenge #286. This week’s prompt words are Ashes and Cocoon.

If you are interested in participating, go to RonovanWrites and check out his weekly challenge published every Monday – it comes with “how-to” if you are new to writing haiku.  Try it!
