A pilgrim
Have you ever wondered
The names under which you live
Mother, wife, daughter
Their transient nature and their strong hold
Have you ever wondered
As they disappear, evolve
Where will you be then
Unbounded, uncertain of your next name
Have you ever wondered
Of the loss with which you must sit
Watching their passing
Untethered, seeking a firm ground
Have you ever wondered
How like strangers, the names remain
Mother, wife, daughter
Their familiar essence though now gone
Have you ever wondered
The transitions you must traverse
Oft searching for
A destination transforming at your approach
Have you ever wondered
How long you, dear pilgrim, will mourn
Before you wake
To the many pilgrimages that is
Your life.
